How LED grow lights work
LED grow lights produce a light with a spectrum that typically mimics the sun. Some grow lights provide a spectrum that is specifically tailored to the needs of individual plants. LED grow lights are made of light-emitting diodes. Unlike fluorescent grow lights, LED grow lights do not need a separate ballast to power them and can be plugged directly into a standard electrical socket.
Because LED grow lights produce a variety of light in color spectrum, the general plant growth, and flowering seem to prefer the green, red, far-red and blue sections of the light spectrum. While many scientific studies indicate that red and blue light provide the most cost efficient method of growth, plant growth better when it is supplemented with green light as well.
